How come my hair doesn't go dead-straight when i straighten it?

i have long thin hair, with layers, and its naturally curly and i straighten it occasionally. but when i do it curls up at the ends where the layers are and is never fully straight. is there anything i can do to get it fully straight?

your hair straightener might not be that good, coz thats what happens when i use my hairstraightener, but when i use a good one my hair goes dead-straight. or if your hairstraightener is good than you just have to hold it on you hair for longer and press harder on the highest heat.

take smaller pieces of hair and go slower when your straightening it. it may take a little longer, but i think its worth it

that happens to me!

you can try using gel when you straighten, or straightening shampoo, conditioner, and other sprays and stuff. try garnier fructis

Use a thermal spray before flat ironing your hair. If that doesn't do it, your flat iron may be getting old or not getting hot enough.

ok, well first make sure that you let your hair straightner heat up fully, because i use to just turn it on and go and it always used to end up in this rank half-straightened thing, so yeah thats help.

as people before me have said, do it in smaller parts and make sure you leave it in for a reasonable amount of time, dont just go really fast

i hope that helps!

I will have to say that you might not be blowdring it right. that would be one of your first steps but also a good salon product ( serum) would be the key to start.. and curly hair also is more dry than your straight hair, so you might not have enough moisture in your hair to keep the frizz away..

i had the same problem. i straightend smaller chunks of hair, used heat protecters[[doesn't really help with the curyling but you should have some]] and i didn't go so fast. then like 5 min. before i went anywhere straightend it again no curling tips at all :D
