When you shave, hair never grows back longer or thicker. When you haven't shaved in a while, the ends wear down, causing them to not me perfectly circular, and look more like normal hair. Only solution is not to shave, sorry mate.

It is actually an illusion. Hair does not know that it has been cut, so a regrowth will look exactly like the growth that was removed.
