I would like to regularly straighten my hair?

I have long, fairly thin hair which is naturally straight but refuses to behave when I wake up. I allready have ceramic straighteners but what is the best heat protect spray/mousse/whatever to use to stop my hair getting damaged?

Thanks for your help!

I would not use the straighteners all the time as they will eventually damage your hair.Try frizz ease

GHD heat defence spray, buy on ebay. really really great! i use it

ok good you got yourself some ceramic straightners, my tips -

- the best heat protection spray i've used (i've tried them all) is either the Toni %26amp; Guy one (silver bottle) or the Tresemme heat defence spray (yep cheap and chearful and works a treat, a lot better than the acutal GHD sutff, i havd GHDs but use the Toni %26amp; Guy spray)

- If you blow dry before straightening, spray your hair before you blow dry and then again before you straighten

- Invest in a good intensive condition, use this twice a week, it is really really worth investing in an expensive conditioner as it will really help your hair out...i straighten my hair nearly everyday and stopped using my intensive conditioner as i had ran out for a week and my hair just died. A good one to use is Kiehls

Extra-Strength Conditioning Rinse (鎷?5 spacenk.com) its great. I also use a Charles Worthington leave in conditioner (cant remember the name, orange bottle!) that i leave in over night...i do this every 2 ngihts.

- if you can afford it go to a salon and get a professional treatment once a month/every two months.

- Dont hold the straightners on your hair for along period of time, just glide over the strands of your hair, if you have a good pair you should really only need to do this once/twice

- Use a good shampoo %26amp; conditioner...i use Fructis Strength %26amp; Shine, works a treat

- dont ever ever ever ever straighten your hair without putting some heat protection spray on first!!!

-try to give your hair at least two days a week free from straightening and at least one without washing it, again if you've got a good pair of straightners your hair should stay straight until you wash it!

Straightening everyday leaves you with dry hair- very dry hair. And it's so so so time consuming

I had horribly frizzy hair. Also rather thin because my hair began falling.

I went to the salon and the hairdresser used X-tenso by L'oreal. it's a professional product- not available on shelves. if you DO manage to get your hands on it, god forbid you do it yourself. It's dangerous to do it yourself.

Pay a one time sum and get your hair straightened at a salon using this product. It's one of the least damaging hair straightening- lasts up to six months or for some lucky folks till their hair grows out.

Your hair doesn't end up stick straight. Just much calmer and a lovely gloss look. It's an amazing product. You'll have flat hair for two days, and then it's just lovely.

Go find out if youre salons do it.

Toni n Guy stuff works well

Toni %26amp; Guy Heat Protection Spray. It costs 5.29 in boots (UK), and is soooo amazing. I bought it yesterday, used it last night and my hair was beautifully smooth and shiny after I'd straightened. It's good as you can also use it as leave-in conditioner.

One thing though, do you HAVE to straighten your hair all the time? There are treatments you can put on your hair to keep it from getting that mad 'bed head' look. Try Toni %26amp; Guy No-Kinks Smoothing Balm or Frizz Ease Hair Serum. These stop the staic and smooth out your hair. You could also try the Frizz Ease 'Straight Ahead' Shampoo and Condition to prepare you hair for straightening which hopefully will mean you have to straighten for a shorter time!!
