Has anyone had their hair thinned out and it looked bad afterwards?

I'm thinking about having it done but I'm scared, I have a phobia of hairdressers cos evertime I go in I come out really upset about how they've cut it lol! pathetic i know!

But I have medium straighy hair and its thick at the bottom so im thinking about having ti done..anyone else had this done and it went bad? Or should I go for it?!

go for it !! it will always grow back if you dont like it but im sure it will look great

maybe you could bring them a picture of what you want instead of just describing it so they get exactly what you want

If your hair is straight by nature then go for it. Its summertime and as long as you dont have a problem with your hair getting frizzy it should be fine. I had mine done and mine is wavy/curly and thick, and it looked horrible. It took forever for it to not look bad and frizzy and poofy. But on straight hair like asian hair it can work great.

no just first find a hair stylist that your comfortable with

No I only let 1 person touch my hair and its a lady that I have been getting my hair cut since I was 8 years old.

If you just get the bottom thinned then you should be fine. Sometimes hairdressers will thin the crown to give more lift at the roots but everytime I've had that done I hate it. I just tell my hairdresser to not texture or thin the crown and to only texture towards the ends.

I had it done, but I have really thick hair with a slight wave. Whan I got it thinned out it went really curly... I guess because it was lighter. I wasn't happy. My advice would be to ask a few hairdressers. Most salons will give a free consultation. Good luck!

Make sure they don't thin out too much of it! The first time I had it done, it looked pretty good and for the most part, I liked it (except that I missed having such thick hair).

The next time I got it done, they cut out way too much from the bottom, so my hair was really thick at the top and really thin at the bottom. My ends were already bad from when I used to have chemical straightening so it took a while before everything grew out to look like normal hair.

I'm not saying don't do it, but make sure they don't cut out too much to the point where it looks uneven.

nope. it has always turned out perfect. it feels so good after it is done. so i say go for it.!
