Bleaching thin layers of hair?

so im going for this look where theres some blonde underneath my black hair and a tiny thin layer of blonde on top of the black.

SINCE im not dying a huge thick amount of hairs on top of my head, would you think it would be easier to get to blonde (with occasional applied heat)?

please let me know what you think.

im planning to do this tomorrow so i want to know if it would be easier to bleach a very thin layer of hair compared to a full head of hair? :s

Bleaching thin layers of hair?

About 6 months ago, I used a semi permanent dark brown hair dye on my honey blonde hair.

Then I decided I wanted to go to blonde, but blonder than before. I made sure I got it done by professionals at a slon. It has cost alot of money and alot of time, but you NEED to get it done professionally. Bleach is very tricky. It's all about timing and the strength of your hair.

Also remember to be careful as black hair is the hardest colour to get blonde. You'll need to go through an orangey-red stage before you get to blonde, if not, your hair will become incredibly dry and brittle, or just plain fall out.

Bleaching thin layers of hair?

hi

Bleaching thin layers of hair?

Even if you are dyeing thin strips of hair it will take just as long to "lift" the color. Be careful with this or you will end up orange and black just in time for Halloween!!!

Bleaching thin layers of hair?

My hair is somewhat like the look you are going for except the opposite way around. I have blonde on top and dark brown underneath. But to answer you ? Yes dying thinner/lesser hair is easier to turn it then a whole bunch/chunk... What it really is, Is that you dont get that dramatic look of going from a whole head of dark to this whole head of yellowish/brassy blonde. G/L

Bleaching thin layers of hair?

Do NOT apply heat. Heat makes the bleach damage the hair even more!! It'll take longer (I got about 8 panels done in my hair, and the bleach was in for the WHOLE entire Anchor man movie at the salon I go to)... but in the end, will be less damaging. DO NOT use 40 volume developer, it make be tempting, but don't!!! I would stick with a 20 to 30. I generally use a 30, because I have really dark brown hair. After watching Anchor Man. (:P) if the hair has some yellow/brassy tones, you can pick up some toner to tone it down. Or you can add a small amount of purple hairdye to get rid of it.

1 weird abnormal hair I found growing on my head?

I'm a dirty blonde with sort of thin hair. I was just looking for splits ends in my hair last week and found a really thick hair. I thought it was sick so I pulled it out. I couldn't believe this thing grew from my head! it was wavish and really dark and really thick like it was more like a dog hair. Does anyone know what this could be???

1 weird abnormal hair I found growing on my head?

It was just a weird hair that grew on your head.

1 weird abnormal hair I found growing on my head?

it was a wisker. to bad you pulled it. now you are going to sprout a whole bunch of them. you better not pull them . or you'll get more. sorry to hear about your misfortune. good luck.

Hormones. I always had very fine hair and a few years ago wirey, dark hairs started growing out of my head. They do look like animal hair. There's nothing wrong with you. Your hormones just change as you get older.

Can you straighten your hair permanently? does it damage your hair?

i straighten my hair to, obviously, make it straight but also to make it thin because i have poofy hair. If i get a perm will it make my hair thin as well? is there a way to do-it-yourself? if so what is the best brand to buy?

Can you straighten your hair permanently? does it damage your hair?

It depends how old you are to get your hair permanetly permed. Like my hair is sooo curly and wavy i wish it was straight but when we asked the beauty stylist she said it could ruin my hair the age i am. I would do you perm at a Beauty parlor because if you mess up you might ot be able to fix it. You can't perm your hair by you self i think because it would be too hard. But i bet you would like to save money and do it your self well i would just go and do it the parlor if you want it soo bad

Can you straighten your hair permanently? does it damage your hair?

Hair can be chemically straightened, and it will last until your hair grows out. But it is VERY damaging to the hair. You can't do it yourself; you'd have to make an appointment.

Can you straighten your hair permanently? does it damage your hair?

don't do it yourself- it will just end up being a disaster. it's worth it to invest in a japanese perm. it's obviously not good for your hair, but it won't cause split ends or anything. it should make your hair thinner, and it will never poof.

Ouch! Go to a professional to get your hair straightened, it's better than trying at home and damaging your hair past recognition!

As u cannot man with your curly hair u need a solution.

Straightening your hair may cause hair fall to a great extent.

Curly is also beauty. If you have decided to do so, then continue. Or else refer the site for curly as well as straight hair maintenance. carry out and see the change.

Can you straighten your hair permanently? does it damage your hair?

to answer both your questions with one answer: Permanent Damage.

what do you mean by 'poofy'? is curly, frizzy, coarse? is it fine and curly, or frizzy or poofy in different places?

if your hair is coarse then you might try conditioning it first with jojoba oil, it is the best. it will make it less curly if it is curly. In my professional opinion, jojoba oil is the best type of conditioner if your hair is coarse, curly, or frizzy, it makes it flat as can be and it won't damage your hair.

If you do decide to treat it with a chemical, I still highly recommend the jojoba oil.

Yes you can straighten hair permanently, think it last a couple of months. It is very damaging and I have heard it cause hair to fall out!

You can, and upon doing a quick search, I found this link... but the article said that sodium hydroxide is involved!

I remember seeing this girl on daytime tv who makes chemical-free hair straightening products in her basement and has a large customer base, but I don't remember her name, city, or name of product.

Good Luck!!

What kind of hairstyle will make my hair thinner?

... which is basically just alot of layers ranging from short length to long.

Is there anything I can do to make my hair thinner?

I'm fourteen and my hair is long, naturally straight, and a bit thick. I've been thinking about getting a body wave because my hair looks better curly from foam rollers than straight, but I want to avoid celebrity-type styles and have something older[decade wise, maybe 40s-ish], and I don't know if I can with my thick hair. I was wondering if there might be some kind of procedure, I guess, that would make my hair more wispy and soft, to not look so modern. Thank you very much to anyone who can help.

Is there anything I can do to make my hair thinner?

Is there anything I can do to make my hair thinner?

Any beautician in any salon can thin your hair, possibly even layer it somewhat so that it has more body and holds a curl better.

Is there anything I can do to make my hair thinner?

My youngest daughter had a similar problem with her hair. I took her to a good salon and had them take the weight out by using a pair of scissors that "de-bulks". It worked. She has the procedure done about every six months. She also uses a flat iron to make her hair straighter. Hope this helps.

Have your hairdresser give you a razor cut...It's not as scary as it sounds...They use a different type of scissor that thins out thick hair.

How do u regrow damaged and thinned hair that has been relaxed for 12 years?

You need a good dermotologist and a great hairdresseer, you may need to go natural for awhile. with a great hairdresser and a dermotologist your hair should grow back. olive oil works wonders on damaged hair, you may want to start with that and eating better...more fruits vegatables and water...

Take some vitamin supplements. Fish Oil is all natural and works great on your hair! make sure you get a good brand though that's filtered so it's pure fish oil. Like Eskimo 3 Fish Oil, not only will it help your hair but it also helps your brain so you can think and focus better. Pretty neat huh.. They have other all natural supplements you can take for your hair too.. you can look here http://www.folica.com/Vitamins_133_1.htm... or search for other sites on google. Also make sure you deep condition your hair, atleast once a week.

Here are some home-made recipes for deep-conditioners you can do at home:

I had the same problem. I've had a perm for years and my hair was breaking off. The only thing that you can do is grow out your perm. I've grown out my perm for a few years now and my hair is now growing and its healthy.

How do u regrow damaged and thinned hair that has been relaxed for 12 years?

This depends. Are you trying to go natural now or would you like to keep relaxing? Either way, the first thing you must do is find a competent and caring stylist who is knowledgeable about hair and can help with whatever hair goals you have. This is much easier said than done, depending on what area of the country you live in.

How do u regrow damaged and thinned hair that has been relaxed for 12 years?

Take good care of it and wait it out. It takes months, even a year or so to grow it out completely. It doesnt matter that you damaged it for so long because it always grows.

How do u regrow damaged and thinned hair that has been relaxed for 12 years?

I AM A HAIR CARE STYLIST AND IF I WERE U I WOULD GO NATURAL FOR A YEAR TO LET THE RELAXER A DAMAGE GROW OUT

How do u regrow damaged and thinned hair that has been relaxed for 12 years?

My hair was thinned and damaged by relaxer once and I tried a swiss protein pack..It worked well, my hair really improved. 12 years is way too long so I don't know if it can work out with your hair but it's worth a try. You may consider stopping to retouch letting the growth thicken and cutting off the relaxed hair to start off a new (it worked for my sis)!

Anyone have very thick hair and had a hair stylist thin it out?

I have very very thick hair and i would like to have it thinned out. Anyone have any experience with this. Have you had it done, does it look and feel better?

Anyone have very thick hair and had a hair stylist thin it out?

I had it thinned out and it felt great! The only problem is when it's growing back. You have to keep on getting it thinned because otherwise it'll get even puffier! If that's ok for you then i definitely suggest you go for it!

Anyone have very thick hair and had a hair stylist thin it out?

i just did. It feels much better, but i am not sure if it looks better

Anyone have very thick hair and had a hair stylist thin it out?

I've had it done a few times. The whole thing lasts about six weeks. It felt good to have it thinned out. It doesn't look as lumpy. But the good thing is that if you don't like it, it'll change back at the end of the six weeks.

I get my hair thinned out every 1-2 months . It does look and it does feel MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH BETTER. I live in the desert so you can imagine it is a great relief to me and Gunther has Long fur, not to be funny but he gets a summertime shave :P He hates the world when he gets shaved but he's not miserable in the summer heat.

go to a Dominican doobie shop and ask for them to blow you out. They have process in which they blow-dry your hair from the root, after they roller set your hair. Awesome look, your hair will fill thinner. Trust me I get this process done weekly.
