Girls who have stripped their hair??

I went a dark brown last winter.. and now I'm looking to get a light brown with blonde highlights for the summer.. My hairdresser said we would have to strip it to get it that light and it could damage my hair. I already have pretty thin hair with a little damage.. Would stripping it completely ruin my hair? What other options do I have?

For those who have had their hair stripped.. what were your experiences? Was it worth it? How long did it take your hair to bounce back? Any certain conditioners help?

Please give me all information you can...Thanks girls!

Girls who have stripped their hair??

Hey - What's happening? Just sent you an email

I have gone form dark brown to white blond, and several shades in between - summer color vs winter color. Not worth it AT ALL, to strip it. Killed my hair!

This is what I did - Bought the light brown / ash blond hair color from WALMART, and did it myself. Tons cheaper, better for my hair than the stripper they always want to use. Then I bought Shine blond shampoo and conditioner made by Loreal - think they make a new one now - but I suggest using THEIR products. Have a super mix of light brown hair and "natural" blond /light brown highlights. My hair is healthy too.

Girls who have stripped their hair??

when i got mine stripped (bleached w/e) it fell out just a little.. but it's alright. even though stripping will hurt your hair badly, you can still go for it and you may wanna discuss it with your hairdresser.

Girls who have stripped their hair??

the hair falls and breaks coz the proctetive alyer on the hair is gone. the hair becomes thin and delicate...my advice DONT DO IT... u'll regret especially since ur hair ia already thin

Girls who have stripped their hair??

Hey Felicia, let me just say I admire your courage. Instead of completely stripping your hair I suggest you keep your dark hair and instead ask for some thin caramel or honey colored streaks. Ask your hairdresser for the best color for your skin tone. This will give you a summer look without having to risk your hair.

Girls who have stripped their hair??

My mum had her hair stripped to go blonde from brunette and despite having quite thick hair its not very good for it at all. It left the hair very brittle and she had to use intensive conditioning treatments to get it back to its normal glossy self. When my sister went lighter she took the longer option of getting the colour gradually put into her roots to blend in with her current colour till she was the shade she wanted but this is a lengthy process. Im not sure if it would ruin your hair I would talk to your hairdresser for more advice though.

Girls who have stripped their hair??

I did this to my hair, it looks rough now, the protective stuff is gone, i have to use a special spampoo to strengthen my hair because it was so damaged from coloring and stripping(I only had it done 2 times too!). It fell out alot too, and I had-have thin hair. I would not advise you to do it. good luck

Hair care?

I play a sport, so therefore I have to wash my hair on a daily basis. All this washing and tying my hair up in ponytails is causing me to lose a lot of hair and thinning my hair at the top of my head. How do I keep from losing so much hair? I feel as if I will be bald on the top of my head by the time i'm twenty.

Hair care?

I've been a dancer for 14 years, and those buns are murder on hair! You're not alone....

Try learning how to french braid... they look good on EVERYONE and thy also look elegant and complicated, but really aren't that hard (try a google search to learn, or ask a friend). They pull less, and it gives you totally new look.

If this just isn't your thing, alternating height of ponytails daily helps put less stress on one part of your hair. Even a simple braid (not french) puts a lot less stress on your hair and scalp.

Make sure you use a damage control conditioner, and give your hair a rest on weekends or whenever it's possible to let it hang free!

Hair care?

Maybe your ponytails are too tight? Try looser ones. Also, alternate the height of the ponytail so there's less stress on that same part every day (like wear a high ponytail one day, a lower one the next, etc). I wash my hair daily and my hair is fine, you just have to alternate a bit. Condition well and do a deep-conditioning treatment once a week.

Hair care?

You are pulling it back much too tightly... and you are right. You will have a receding hair line because you are damaging the roots. That hair might not grow back. Professional women athletes ( tennis, softball, golf, etc) pull their hair back but not severely... just enough to keep it out of the eyes. They also wear visors and sweatbands to keep hair and sweat out of the eyes.

Hair care?

do some oilong in the night...n wash off by the morning....go for a good hair oil....hair oil along with a good shampoo ...would help strengthen your hair roots...if your hairs arnt too long then set them free or wear an hair band....tight pony tails etc often cause it to fall out....so set them free often if you can......else even if u tie them back..make sure u dont tie them too tightly....

hope that would help...

good luck!

Hair care?

dont put your hair in a pony tail when hair is wet. use a special shampoo and less hair products...

Hair care?

Well, all i can say is talk to your coach and tell him about your situation. He will be helpful and will suggest ideas. Also talk to your doctor to get hair treatments. You should either let your hair down instead of with ponytails. Or dont wash on a daily basis. Ask your doctor for hair treatments that will make your hair fresh and not stinky

Two questions about hair nutrition and hair coloring?

1. I'm losing toooooooo much hair everyday, I eat lots of fruet and still losing hair. do you think I should take some vitamins? what vitamins exactly?

2. my hair is thin (become thin). what hair color do you think would make it look thicker, a dark color or a light one?

my natural hair color is medium brown. I was going to dye it dark brown or black.

thanks in advance!!

Two questions about hair nutrition and hair coloring?

if you are losing hair the worst thing you can do is die it, but there are doctors out there that can help and even health web sites that you can ask questions like this on, there's also vitamins for this problem in the stores.best of luck

Two questions about hair nutrition and hair coloring?

Any chemical treatment, dye, perm, etc., will add stress to your hair. A dark color will contrast too much with your scalp and make your hair look thinner. Be conserative and have some highlighting done which will add depth. Also, get a cut above the collar to reduce the pull on your hair. Be sure to use a good quality shampoo, conditioner and other hair products.

Biotin is a good dietary supplement for hair. Be aware though you are not going to get instant results from it but you're likely to see a difference in several months. Remember this is working from the inside out. As a bonus, you'll probably find you also have stronger nails.

Two questions about hair nutrition and hair coloring?

The healthiest thing you can do for your hair is wear its natural color. The are some vitamins you can purchase online: Samson Secret. It is the organic solution for all kinds of hair and hair problems.

Can you thin your hair at home? Scene hair help!???

if u wanna go scene, most of my friends what they do is they take a chunk of their hair, twist it, and then they take the edge of the scissor and glide it down the piece. You probably shouldnt do it yourself since the only reason my friends can is cause their moms are hair dressers.Just go to the salon and its really cheap just to thin it lol.

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

My dad said alot of people with thin hair would dream to have thick hair like mine, but i need to know if that is actually what people think.

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

If its on your head its good. If its on your back, not so good.

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

i had thick hair, but now i have thin. it makes my face look bigger.

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Thick hair is very sexy

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

It's a great thing.

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

depends.. thicker hair is sometimes harder to take care of.. for example if you wash your hair and let it air dry.. it would probably take around 2 or 3 times the time to dry than thinner hair. so its up to you and everyone else. personally i am just lazy sometimes and i don`t like taking care of thick hair.

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

thick hair can be a pain... but yeah, you can do a lot more with it than if it's flimsy. lokk at angelina jolie etc... very full hair.

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I have thick hair too and people compliment me all the time and I think thick hair is better than thin hair because when your old and your hair is falling out then you'll still have SOME hair and still look kinda younge i know that sounds wierd but thats how i look at it!

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Its kind of hard because when you go to curl it or streighten it, it takes so much more time. However thick hair is great!!

I myself use to be like you, but after 7 different hair colors and 3 bleeches I would pay to have someone else's hair on me.

However keep in mind whenever you dicide to do something new use pantene.. or the new Hairapy its great!!

Thick hair is perfect ur a lucky girl.. Now style it so u can have more compliments!!

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

GOOD! GOOD! GOOD! When you get older and start to thin out on top (and yes, women do thin out on top) you are gonna love your thick hair.

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

it could be good and bad. u can do things that ppl wit thick hair can do. but not what thin hair ppl can do. your hair is prob'ly more manageable. i like thick and thin ppl hair. but i neither im in between. my hairs thick in the middle.

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

yeah actually alot of people would die to have a little bit of thick hair if there hair is to thin

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I think that's a great thing but that all depends on you if you like it then it's good and if you don't than it's bad

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

thicker is better

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

i think thick hair is a good thing because if you have thin hair, you have just grow up and your hair would just fall off hehe but if you want thin hair, just layer it.

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I LOVE MY HAIR IT IS THICK AND FULL OF VOLUME. YOU SHOULD BE HAPPY CAUSE PEEPS WITH THIN FLAT HAIR JUST CAN'T STYLE IT THE SAME.

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

You can do so much more with thick hair. Your hair can look full with thick hair with any style. Love it girl.

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

omg i have realllyyyyyyyyyy thick hair too and my parents say the SAME THING

they keep saying that i dont need to cut my hair or anything cuase i have to be grateful of what i have and most people dont have it..

yea i agree..but u can at least do SOMETHing to it..

but yea..its hard to like..straighen it..cause i remmber this one time my freinds mom straightend my hair and it took like.. an hour to straighten..

so yupp.

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I dyed my hair alot w/ semi's and demi's, and I bleached it maybe 2 or 3 times while in high school. My hair is already thin, and god would I ever kill for thick hair! Mine always looks flat.......

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

thick hair is the absolute worst... if your a guy. If you be a dame, then like i guess it dont matter cuz you is gonna style it anyway

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

yes, it's true what your dad says. I have EXTREMELY thin hair, and I would love to have thick hair. But my sister has ECTREMELY thick hair and says she would love to have thin hair. Everyone wants what they don't have. You can always get your hair in lots of layers to thin your hair out. This way, if you don't like thin hair, it will always grow back in...

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Consider my 28 strands of hair and you tell me. lol

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I have thick hair too, and it can be a pain and hard to style. But thick hair is very sexy, and everyone tells me thay would kill for my hair. You just have to learn to embrace your thick hair!

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Absolutely! I have enough hair on my head for four people. What I like about it is that it has a lot of body. The only downfall I have found is that when I grew it long it was way too heavy and looked terrible. I wore it up most of the time. If kept at a medium length, it can be pulled back in the horrid humidity. Too short, be careful if it tends to be curly. Better thick than thin. Thin hair tends to fall flat sooner. Plus, you save the cost of having weaves put in. Enjoy what you have and make the most of it. The trick - find a good hairdresser who really knows what they are doing and talk to them.

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I have thick hair and I used to hate it. Now I realize that it's actually pretty great. You can always have your hair thinned out if you want, but I think that thick and full is better.

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Thick hair is beautiful if you have a cute hairstyle to accent it.

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

most people die for thick hair because so many people have thinning hair like my mom, but personally it was just soo unmanagable for me that my i told my hair dresser to thin it out, it is much more managable and i highly suggest you do it. my hair is seriously more healthier than before, i can run my hands through it and my hands won't get caught. i love it now!! it is much better, but you and me are still very lucky. good luck solving your hair problem!!

I have thick hair. is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Thick hair is great!

How to thin out thick hair (for a guy)?

Hey, I have medium-longish hair thats like really thick and coarse/frizzy as well as wavy. It never will lay even close to flat unless I wear a hat for like 8 hours, which im getting tired of doing. Is there a way I can get it cut or thinned out a certain way so that it lays flat, and has the same shape as it does when it's wet (which i think looks a lot better and cooler)?

so yeah, if anyone has suggestions, thatd be appreciated. thanks. :D

How to thin out thick hair (for a guy)?

Natural hair thickener ideas?

i have really dry thin hair and i want different natural ways to make it stronger

Natural hair thickener ideas?

Go to your hair dresser and have her cut off all of the damage. This is the only way your hair will grow in thick and healthy.

Think of your hair like a plant. The best way to get the leaves full and healthy is by constant pruning.

Natural hair thickener ideas?

put on some mousse.

then blow try it for couple minutes.that should give your hair full volumes =)

Natural hair thickener ideas?

Natural hair thickener ideas?

Apply the white of a raw egg on the hair for 30 minutes, and then wash it off with a shampoo. A mixture of lemon juice and egg white and oil massage could also be used to strengthen the roots of

How to make your hair thinner?

cuz i have thick hair

How to make your hair thinner?

You could get layers, which will take off some of the weight.

You can get it razored to remove some bulk.

Or, you can have it thinned, with thinning shears. It would really help alot, but, you need to make sure that whoever does it, knows what they are doing...or it will look like you have lines of breakage all over your head.

How to make your hair thinner?

Get layers. I would recommend starting with longer ones to get used to them and then maybe cut them shorter? I had really thick hair and this is what they did for me and I love it! It's not that much thinner, but it really made a difference. Good luck!

How to make your hair thinner?

My stylist uses thinning shears. You should not have your hair thinned too often. I don't like how you have pieces of hair fall out even after you wash your hair after thinning.

Will dying my hair break ot off or harmn it?

I have thin hair and have died it many times in the past. It is growing back and now its healthy and shoulder length. I havnt died it since November, If i dye it now, would it harm my hair?

Will dying my hair break ot off or harmn it?

i don't think it would matter what color you dye your hair you will still have a small amount of breakage, because it is a chemical

why would you want it to put anything on there if it's looking good?

Will dying my hair break ot off or harmn it?

If I were u I just leave it as it is because dying of hair can cause split ends and dryness so you just let it to grow naturally and also avoid applying any harse chemical like sprays and other which can harm your hair because these chemicals can cause great damage to your hair.

Will dying my hair break ot off or harmn it?

leave it alone

Will dying my hair break ot off or harmn it?

Yes. Highlights would be a little easier on your hair...

Will dying my hair break ot off or harmn it?

Why don't you use a semi-permenant color? Like a rinse, it's a lot less damaging on your hair.

Will dying my hair break ot off or harmn it?

Colourant is made up of chemicals, so even tho your hair might not break or look bad, it does harm your hair.

That's a fact.

Try dyeing it and using optimal products for coloured hair.

What can i do to make my hair thicker like skaters have?

I'm 13, with brown thin hair. How can i make my hair thicker so if I were to shake my head my hair would also move like most other guys with this look can do?

What can i do to make my hair thicker like skaters have?

let it grow until it's below your chin at least. Get it cut so it's layered just a little bit (layers in the bottom couple of inches, but not higher). Use a volumizing shampoo and conditioner, and when you condition just do it from your ears down. You can use a very small amount of thickener or gel when it's wet, too, to add a little more bulk. let it dry, shake, and go!

What can i do to make my hair thicker like skaters have?

Shave your Head.

How can you make thin hair look thick and fuller?

Hair extensions - good ones. Racoon are the best brand. Expensive (Around 鎷?00 for a whole head, but you can spend as little as 鎷?50 on "bulking out" and still get a good look) but amazing results.

How can you make thin hair look thick and fuller?

Just play with it. I know it sounds dumb but it works. Play with it, jump around and what not. Then it is sort of big. Finish it off with a blow dry and you have gorgeous full hair. Dont put hairspray or anything on it. Trust me this works. And, hope i could help.

How can you make thin hair look thick and fuller?

Try henna treatments. You can ask your stylist or go to the beauty supply store and get henna treatments that will make your hair look thicker, shiny, and condition it at the same time. Some hennas even have color rinses in them!

Back combing is a great technique to use.

Veet or Nair hair removal Cream questions..?

AHH! Help! Bad hair and bad hair days?

I have very striaght, thin, brown hair and it constantly gets tangled, no matter how much i brush after a few hours it's bad again. I've tryed many hair products but they end up drying my hair and making it frizzy. Is there any cure?

AHH! Help! Bad hair and bad hair days?

If you hair is that prone to tangles, you need to have your dead ends trimmed off. Healthy hair doesn't do that, so cut off that dead crap and call it lovely! I have my ends trimmed every 8 weeks, and I color the hell out of my hair and it never tangles. I use Aussie moist shampoo %26amp; conditioner and the Aussie conditioning mousse, but I alternate that with Biosilk products since I use the flat iron and blow dryer. I put my hair into 4 section, blow it dry then section it again for flat ironing. I beat my hair up every single day and it's not a tangled mess. Get a trim girl.

AHH! Help! Bad hair and bad hair days?

Why don't you try wearing it up? Or for the days you know it's going to be bad, wear a bandana over it.

AHH! Help! Bad hair and bad hair days?

just curl your hair and see if it looks good it sounds like your hair is natrually curly

AHH! Help! Bad hair and bad hair days?

you sound like me, only my hair is a little wavy. i'll give you a star because of it. If you don't mind, go earn extra points and answer my question at:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

Thank you!!! Who knows, maybe I'll even choose yours as a best answer. the answers could help you too!!!

AHH! Help! Bad hair and bad hair days?

garnier fructise.

AHH! Help! Bad hair and bad hair days?

you could get specail shampo. When you go to bed, sleep with it in a pony tail so it doesnt get that tangled. When washing ur hair, 1st wash with condtioner then shampo then condtioner again. Let it air dry. NEVER blow dry it. It will get puffy.

AHH! Help! Bad hair and bad hair days?

that guy is an a**hole, i have the same problem nothing really works. but my hair is mega thick and curly/wavy, and its always tangled i jsut try to deal with it and style it so it doesnt matter if its tangled it will still look cute. i usually just shampoo and then condition it then i comb it wet with a detangling comb and then i put curling creme in it and a litle mousse blow dry it and it look fine and its not combable but i dont need it to be.

AHH! Help! Bad hair and bad hair days?

to better answer this question, it might be good to know what you've already tryed. if your hair is thin then you don't want anything that is going to weight it down. i would use downy fabric softener, or a tiniest amount or baby oil for smoothness and sheen. it will be light enough that you should have an easier time of it. you may also have bad ends that need to be trimmed in order to keep your look clean and not overly dry or tangled.

AHH! Help! Bad hair and bad hair days?

Hi, my hair gets tangled too, and the ends get dry........hopefully you don't use a shampoo that strips your hair, try a moisturizing shampoo like suave or biolage What works for me is Prive's daily conditioner, (it's a little pricy, but hell my hair is so soft now and it's well worth the price) hope this helped you

AHH! Help! Bad hair and bad hair days?

Believe it or not, your hair's appearance is tied in with your health. If you don't eat enough rich protein and omega oils the hair will pay for it. I found this out in nutrition class. To help it along use moisturizing shampoo and conditioning with vitamin e and make sure it says replenishes the moisture of the hair on the bottle. There are some 'cheap' shampoos and conditioners with vitamin e, but are filled with other oils that weigh the hair down making it hard to manage.

AHH! Help! Bad hair and bad hair days?

Well, first of all NEVER BLOW DRY IT! Blow dryers make hair frizz up. I would actually go to the local pharmacy and ask a pharmasist. Hope it works!!!!!

AHH! Help! Bad hair and bad hair days?

I have had similar problems, the best thing you can do is it get your hair re-conditioned and a trim. The RedKen ANTI SNAP ($13.00 on average at salons) leave in treatment with protein also helps because it adds protein that will strengthen your hair, but be care full when adding protein enriched formulas to your hair to many can make it break off and become frizzy or weak.

How to get thick hair?

i have thin hair and i want it to get it thick and soft and beautiful

How to get thick hair?

I have the same problem.

You can't really change the texture of your hair, but you can make it look thicker.

Start by using an uplifting shampoo and conditioner.

Then when blow drying your hair, bend over and blow dry your hair upside down.

That should get it a good lift.

Try even getting some layers, and make them stick out a little.

P.S. I love your name. lol.

You can't do a lot about the texture of your hair. I don't think you can really change it.

A good shampoo and conditioner will help a little, but if your hair is thin, it will stay thin.

(Pregnancies change the hair texture for some women though.)

How to get thick hair?

Well you can always get you a wig.

They have hair growing processes but they are very expensive. As far as making you hair thicker by shampoo and the miricle grows........I dont thik they will work.

How to get thick hair?

you cant really change the thickness of your hair, but my sister uses this volumising spray you can buy from boots, or any pharmacy/chemist. its called :

Bb (bumble and bumble) thickening spray

use this on wet/damp hair and dry as usual

it helps her as she has thin her too

How to get thick hair?

You cant change the thickess of your actual strands of hair but if you want it to stick out from your head more get it layered. Just wash it regularly to keep it soft and im sure it is beautiful.

Bodybuilding supplement hair question?

this probably sounds like a dumb question but do certain bodybuilding supplements cause thinning of hair? ive been on no xplode, cellmass, and some gnc protein for a while. I also got a buzzcut with a #4 blade a few days ago and noticed my hair was thin. I dont know if the girl cut it incorrectly or what but I was wondering if supplements could be linked to that.

Bodybuilding supplement hair question?

Totally not a dumb question! What ever you put into your body comes out onto your hair strands. To much protein can make your hair break off, even loose some, just as you are. Try to take some vitamin B-12. This is very good for your hair, and I also recommend scalp massages to stimulate the hair follicles again and get that hair growing as it should! Good luck

Any help with my hair?

Ok if you have a thinner curling iron. Take a little strand of hair but not too little and dont clip it on the iron. But take your hair and wrap it around the iron when its full heat.. make sure its hot... hold it for like 20 seconds. then let go and you have a realy cute curl!

Any help with my hair?

put it in half up and half down, or putting a headband in you hair is a cute way of accessorizing or pony tail, braids, just leaving it down but curling ur hair or something like that

Any help with my hair?

Isn't it amazing that we are never happy with what we've got? LOL My hair is so thick %26amp; wavy/frizzy that I can do nothing with it. LOL I love the sound of thin straight hair, it's so versatile. Having it bobbed may sound old fashioned but its short layers can add volume to the hair, plus it dries quickly and needs nothing doing to it on a daily basis. If you have a couple of pieces down the sides of the ears slightly longer then it can look very cute and "pixie"-like. If it's not too radical a suggestion them maybe you could dye these longer pieces either a bright red or purple? (Even cuter imo). A VERY VERY old fashioned way - if you want it curlier - is to rag wrap it. Wrap the hair in pieces of cloth before you go to bed at nihgt %26amp; in the morning you would have cute Shirley Temple curls :%26gt;

If i relax my hair every month, what is the long term side effect.?

will my hair thin out because i straightend them regularly by relaxing them, or will they fall off.

If i relax my hair every month, what is the long term side effect.?

Hello

What kind of hair do you have ? Are they thick and coarse ? If so it wont be so bad , your hair will be able to handle it , if you hair is thin , forget about it , they will burn and fall out.

Their are new ways to straighten hair out there that can be good , theirs the Japanese silk treatment , it is very expensive but lasts 6 months and your hair does not burn or get damaged and they stay very straight and look very healthy. I would go for that , you pay more but it lasts longer and your hair will not get damaged , hope this helped!

If i relax my hair every month, what is the long term side effect.?

Breakage is the long term effect.... thin hair and split ends. In general damaged hair. You can counteract these effects by ensuring that you take treatments and such. Also ensure that your hairdresser only relaxes your new growth. Mine relaxed all my hair now they are really damaged and I'm having hell trying to repair them (i might have to cut them all off)

Good Luck.

If i relax my hair every month, what is the long term side effect.?

You're hair will be insanely damaged and could even possibly fall out... :-(.

If i relax my hair every month, what is the long term side effect.?

Why do you have to relax it every month? Relax always wear its effect for up to 6 months, unless your hair IS really that %26gt;.%26lt;. Just use conditioner everyday if you want to... cost less, la.

Side Effect? CANCER (joke)

If i relax my hair every month, what is the long term side effect.?

oh noooo u shudnt do dat breakage, thin hair, not good

ur hair is gonna get damaged and i know u dont want dat

If i relax my hair every month, what is the long term side effect.?

your hair probly would fall out because it would dry out and break. dont do it unless it's where your hair has grown in.

If i relax my hair every month, what is the long term side effect.?

"Relaxing" your hair every month may not result in thinning, and possible hair loss, but I can tell you from experience, continually "straightening" your hair will definitely have an adverse reaction on your hair.

When I was in my early 30's, I straigtened my hair every eight weeks. After doing this for two years, my hair was "frizzled".

My only option for healthy hair was to cut it off and start again.

If i relax my hair every month, what is the long term side effect.?

As a professional cosmetologist, I recommend that you only relax the new growth. As you are rinsing the relaxer out of the hair, it is best to comb through the residual relaxer all the way to the ends (this makes you look as though your whole head has been relaxed). After you rinse and BEFORE you neutralize, apply a good conditioner (Pantene and Dove both have excellent conditioners for various hair types) and leave on for 15-20 minutes. Once you rinse the conditioner out, apply the neutralizing shampoo. After thoroughly shampooing and rinsing out any residue, reapply your conditioner and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse out the conditioner and continue styling. What damages the hair is the lack of good conditioning during and after the relaxer. Every shampoo should be followed by a good conditioner. If relaxed and conditioned properly, your hair will not break or thin out.

If i relax my hair every month, what is the long term side effect.?

A lot of broken, dry and brittle hair. It would defiantly not be a good look. what do you do in between your relaxers?? do you get your hair pressed at the roots?? I would suggest asking your stylist for a silk or ceramic press with a light press (with a pressing comb) at the roots

If i relax my hair every month, what is the long term side effect.?

I agree with Kat, relaxers are strong chemicals that can result in baldness and scars if not used properly (that includes overuse) I usually wait 2-3 months. Anything less than six weeks can be extremely damaging.

Medium Tight Curls, Fine Hair...How do I get soft bigger curls?

I have almost tight curls (I'd say tight/medium) and very very fine and thin hair. I recently cut my hair in the style of Eva Longoria in short/medium layers.

I've worn my hair curly for 35 years and I'm now ready for straight, wavy and soft curl hair.

I've experimented with a few things for the past month and I'm still having trouble getting my curls. Some products weigh my hair down, some make it frizz.

I have a Corioliss flat iron which is supposedly good quality as well as a 1" curling iron. I have heat setting lotions (which tend to make my hair crispy when I iron/curl), mousse, etc.

I want to do 3 different looks:

1) Soft Curls that will stay ALL DAY!!! (I cant get any curls to stay)

2) Messy sorta flipped (see link below)

http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t244/...

3) Wavy stringy look(see link below) http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t244/...

And if it helps, I live in FL, so lots of humidity. Thanks a bunch.

Medium Tight Curls, Fine Hair...How do I get soft bigger curls?

For a straight/semi curly look, use a straightner, and then those hot rollers, bigger ones, and make them loose. then spray after with product. The bigger the hot roller, the better i suppose.

Or, go to a hair stylist, and get them to tell you what to do best for your hair. Also, you could use a hair curler, and only semi curl the ends, like, not a full curl..? haha. dunno, hope i helped.
